Appeak Poker is still our pick for best free poker app with an incredibly simple interface that makes online poker a snap. The app offers Play Now, which will get you into a quick game right away in addition to Sit & Go’s, Bingo Bango, Double Ups and MTTs. For USA players, Grand Poker at 5Dimes (freerolls here) actually has the best freerolls that are open to all players. It has a $500 prize pool and takes place every Sunday. For non-USA players, I would recommend 888 Poker or Unibet Poker. See the chart on this page to see the current rankings for sites with the best freerolls.

Here's 'Fergulator'. A nice bankroll management tool for you to download and enjoy.

The WSOP poker app offers the best free poker games online. It is a superb place to practise poker for free and hone your skills without any financial risk to your bankroll. Play free poker games. Fergulator is a free bankroll management tool that calculates the maximum amount of money you should sit with in cash games and the maximum you should buy in to tournaments with according to the size of your bankroll.

What is Fergulator?

With Fergulator, you simply enter the amount that you have in your bankroll and the program will tell you:

App
  • The maximum you can safely pay to enter a MTT or SNG.
  • The maximum that you can safely take to a cash game table.
  • The maximum you should sit with at a cash table after you have won a few pots.

How to use Fergulator.

Just enter the amount you have in your bankroll, choose the game type that you want to play in and hit 'Go'.

Fergulator results explained.

Fergulator outputs the maximum amount that you can sit with in different types of games. However, as you can see from the example above with our $600 bankroll, there are not going to be many (if any) $30NL cash games for us to play at.

In this example, $30 is the maximum amount that you should sit with at a cash game table. If you're playing in standard 100BB games, the biggest game that's within this limit is $25NL. When your stack at this $25NL table then exceeds $63.33 you should leave and buy in at another table for $25.

Note: You do not necessarily have to buy in for 100BBs in every game you play. For example, you could buy in for $10 in $50NL games with a $200 bankroll and stay within the guidelines. However, I would advise that you buy in for the maximum (within the guidelines) as it encourages good post flop play.

The key idea is to just stay within these maximum limits for cash games and tournaments. Do this and you will be just fine.

Lastly, why the leave table at figure? This is because Ferguson's final rule (see below) is as follows:

If at any time during a No-Limit or Pot-Limit cash-game session the money on the table represents more than 10 percent of my total bankroll, I must leave the game when the blinds reach me.

So the 'leave table at' amount represents 10% of your total bankroll at that point in the session. The logic behind leaving at this threshold is that you have more money on the table than you can afford to risk.

Why use Fergulator?

Bankroll management is immensely important. If you want to become a consistent winner you have to stick to the rules of bankroll management to avoid going broke.

The Fergulator bankroll management program will help you to figure out the maximum stakes you can play for to help prevent you from losing it all through a bad run of cards. Our good friend Mr. 'Horrific Downswing' comes around every now and then, so you really want to be prepared for those inevitable losing periods when they come knocking.

Good bankroll management skills are at the core of every single successful online poker player. You're not going to last long without them.

Like magic really.

Buy Iain a beer.

If you find Fergulator useful, how about adding some money to Iain's (the developer's) beer fund? A dollar or two here and there is always much appreciated!

Cheers!
